Etcetera

In Calgary, we also visited Jay, a good friend of mine from back in University days. Her husband's brother, sister-in-law (whom I knew from University days) and two nephews were also there, visiting from Prince Rupert BC, and Jay invited over another old childhood church friend (recently divorced) and her three kids. So it was a bit of a reunion and so good to see Em, whom I hadn't seen in donkey's years, and her kids (don't think I'd ever met them before).

Laoye and Jay's husband, A, are both engineers and enjoy a good chat. A's brother is a doctor. So the men had their own bonding time while us women sat and reminisced.
Before heading to CousinEm & Dee's house in Calgary, we spent the day at the Calgary Zoo. Button & Mustang had a blast. We took it in turns - I went with the kids in the morning, and Laolao and Laoye shepherded them in the afternoon while I rested. The below animal pictures were mostly taken by Mustang, I believe.

In Coaldale we spent one night in the bus on the empty lot beside Aunt Peace's house. A beautiful prairie sunset settled us down for the night (at around 9:45 pm).
The final night of our southern trek we spent at a campground on the OldMan River just north of Taber. We enjoyed an outdoor breakfast and a hike up the hill beside our campsite before heading back up the road.
