Hope: First Sunday of Advent

(This was supposed to have been posted on Sunday, 30 November, but somehow it got overlooked.)

Light of hope, grant us hope.
We wait in hope for the One who is to come.
We wait in hope for a world where neighbours live in peace,
where the rich share with the poor, where the strong protect the weak.

God of hope, come and grant us hope.
In hope we are saved; we pray that we abide in hope.
We light this candle to remind us that hope is alive
and is renewed in every advent season.

We call the Source of hope to dwell in our hearts,
and in the hearts of those who have lost hope.

Candle of hope illuminate the world.
King of hope, come. Maranatha!
